Garden Plants of Leicestershire

Talk by Graham Jackson

7.30 p.m. Monday 20th September 2010, Woodhouse Eaves Village Hall

This evening's illustrated talk will outline the stories of the thousand or more garden plants associated with Leicestershire and Rutland. It will also include some with particular connections to the Charnwood area. There are plants which have been discovered here, plants bred by local gardeners, plants brought back from overseas expeditions and plants named to honour local places and people. In short, the talk will cover anything you have ever wanted to know about Leicestershire's plants.

Graham Jackson has lived and gardened in Leicestershire for over 35 years. He was a founder member and past Chairman of the Leicestershire Group of Plant Heritage, formerly the National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens. He is also a qualified horticultural judge.
